Of course this is my opinion and I'm not a professional, and it only reflects my preferences, yada yada, so no more caveats. I'm posting this just to share an insight I had on the road today. Would love to hear your opinions, if you have any. I have owned three Gold Wings Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions. The Ks are more agile, but less stable in turns and much less stable on the interstate behind semis. They Wing shines in the latter, but not so much in the former. Much depends on your riding style and where you like to ride. If I was to ride the interstates all day, I would choose a Wing. I try to avoid interstates for the most part so I tend to lean towards the BMW camp as my LT is a nice compromise on both.

Dealing with buggy electronics, transmission recall, sudden brake loss…I dumped it. In the interim I bought a Indian Challenger and rode it for 4k. It's not really me either… Anyways, I started thinking of a Wing again and wondered if anyone had any thoughts on a vs a I could care less about the radio. The trunk size would be nice, but truthfully I am a one-up rider, so if I can fit my single helmet in the trunk I would be OK with the smaller size.

I am a thirty year Harley rider and just bought a GTL. This can prove to be rather frustrating, as the Honda has it laid out right in front of you with easy access to the massive seven-inch TFT display, compared to the smaller Navigator GPS system that you can detach from the BMW. At this price point it should be well functioning. I have always thought the bike to big. The Honda Goldwing Tour is blue toothed. The maintenance costs aren't much more than the Goldwing. We all pick the bikes we want that meet our own values. I find my Ultra to be very vibratory and leaden now with no real get up and go. I feed my hobby with a VFR Interceptor. I ride a lot of long distance — even my daily ride to work and back is miles. I currently ride a Harley Road King, my first American bike. In the end it really comes down to your performance priorities. I really like the electronic headlamp change from left to right dip — even at the expense of the adaptive function not working away from the domestic setting. I'll be the first to say that Honda dealers have no better reputation overall, probably worse, but many Goldwing owners do their own maintenance or ignore it and still rack up high mileages without fear of Big Bill paying a visit. After having my Goldwing for about 5 months I find myself leaving the Beemer in the garage and taking the Honda and most likely will sell the Beemer. Today it is expected. It was also very top heavy when she was getting on. With the new Gold Wing, Honda expects sales of its flagship motorcycle to climb back to levels. Only reason I initially switched to the K was because of Honda not updating the GL at the time for years. Normally no, but I prefer to be the one who makes that decision.
