For a fair amount of time during this match it was reasonable to ask if this was a challenge too far, as his own waning energy and the force that is Stefanos Tsitsipas combined to create a two-set deficit for the Serb. Instead, Djokovic pulled off the type of manic recovery he has made look routine for over a decade, recovering to force five sets and eventually defeat Tsitsipas 6 , , , , and win his second French Open title. Still, the most impressive achievement is that he has become the first man in the open era to win every major, Masters and ATP Finals title at least twice. A unique, unparalleled accomplishment. Right, I guess Roland-Garros is in the books. Thanks all for your company over the last two weeks, and join us again for Wimbledon the week after next. Marion Bartoli tells Tsitsipas what a boss he is, then hands him the mic and the poor boy can barely speak. He says it was a big fight out there, then a load of other noises are ruined by a poor PA. You can see that he really, really wants to get out of there to cry in peace.

Novak Djokovic had to come from two sets down to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas, becoming the first man in the open era to win all four majors twice; he now has 19 in total, and the chance of a calendar year grand slam. I wonder if it took him the first two sets to run the semi out of his legs, because the way he moves onto a forehand winner for all is far better than anything he managed in the early stages. But Tsitsipas then wins three straight points, the final one with an ace, so Djokovic will have to serve for it. Djokovic looked tentative all the way through this match, but then circumstance challenged him to find something and now look. Djokovic holds to love. But an ace and a backhand error then make it all, and we end up at deuce; Tsitsipas wasting his first advantage when Djokovic finds an excellent length, then having his second taken from him by a forehand winner. Tsitsipas is playing a little better now, but he still wipes a backhand wide, only for Djokovic to fling one long. This is developing into an absolutely sensational match, but we could do with both men hitting their peaks concurrently
