The Five Kage are some of the most significant ninjas to live in the Naruto world. They are incredibly powerful figures, each of whom sits at the helm of their own village in the Five Great Nations. The Five Kage have always existed ever since the concept of Shinobi Villages came into existence. In Naruto , the positions of Five Kage were held by some very powerful individuals who ended up leading the world into a united war against the Akatsuki and, eventually, the likes of Madara. However there are some individuals who can face a Kage and even beat one, such as Deidara who defeated Gaara the Fifth Kazekage, Orochimaru who killed Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage and Sasori who was able to kill the Third Kazekage. Madara Uchiha was even able to defeat all 5 current Kages and leave them in a near death state, although he had the Edo Tensei's immortality and Hashirama's Wood Release to his advantage. The Kage have proven to be on par with individuals of high rank within the other worlds, such as the Gotei 13 Captains, the 10 Wizard Saints, the Four Emperors and Warlords of the Sea.
