Shogakukan has published 13 novels since March under their Gagaga Bunko imprint. Two manga adaptations have been published by Shogakukan and Square Enix. The story follows the novelist Itsuki Hashima who is surrounded by various people, including a beautiful genius writer who loves him, a big-sisterly college classmate, a fellow male writer, a sister all you need, a sadistic tax accountant, and his editor. As the story progresses, the underlying conflicts of dreams and goals surface, as each character attempts to achieve their dreams, in their own way.

Itsuki Hashima is a light novelist obsessed with little sisters, strictly focusing on them when he writes his stories. Despite his personality, he is surrounded by a tight circle of friends: Nayuta Kani, a genius yet perverted novelist who is in love with him; Haruto Fuwa, a fellow male author whose work has seen considerable success; Miyako Shirakawa, a good friend that he met in college; and Chihiro, his perfect younger step-brother who takes care of the housework and cooking. Together, they play strange games, go on spontaneous journeys, crack silly jokes, and celebrate each other's successes. However, each individual must also deal with their own issues, whether it is struggling to meet a deadline or coming to terms with traumatic events buried in their past. Itsuki Hashima, a popular young novelist whose work always includes little sisters, is having difficulty coming up with a new series. One day, his younger step-brother Chihiro and some of his colleagues come over for dinner, drinks, and games. Nayuta and Miyako walk in on Itsuki naked!? He's trying to act out the little sister character in his new volume, but he ends up embarrassing himself and complicating the trio's relationship. Itsuki, Nayuta, and Miyako decide to escape the cold by going to Okinawa where they visit a remote island so Itsuki can do some research. Meanwhile, Nayuta decides to flail around naked in the water, and Miyako eventually joins in as well. Toki then shows up with the chocolates that fans had sent to them. Itsuki is nearing an important deadline and tries to flee from his editor, Toki, but is immediately caught. However, he manages to escape and goes to a hot springs with Setsuna.
