Advanced Functional Materials is a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal, established in Februaryis published by Wiley-VCH. However, it has been published under other titles since Coverage of this journal encompasses all topics pertaining to materials science. Topical coverage includes photovoltaics, organic electronics, carbon materials, adv funct mater, nanotechnology, liquid crystals, magnetic materials, surfaces and interfaces, and biomaterials.
At last you will have a chance to get the full story. Starting in the publishers of Advanced Materials will be bringing you Advanced Functional Materials as the full-paper sister journal to Advanced Materials. The journal will be edited by the Advanced Materials team of Peter Gregory Esther Levy and Alison Green and will cover all aspects of high-tech materials chemistry and physics. Full Papers will present details of outstanding materials science research Feature Articles will give you a comprehensive view of recent research developments while Highlight articles will provide you with a balanced view of new and topical subjects. Starting with 6 issues in Advanced Functional Materials will enjoy the same circulation as Advanced Materials. Wiley-VCH Verlag. How to publish in this journal. The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 green comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 yellow the second highest values, Q3 orange the third highest values and Q4 red the lowest values. The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is. Evolution of the number of published documents. All types of documents are considered, including citable and non citable documents. This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal.

Myocardial infarction heart attack is the number one killer of heart patients. Existing treatments for heart attack do not address the underlying problem of cardiomyocyte CM loss and cannot regenerate the myocardium. Introducing exogenous cardiac cells is required for heart regeneration due to the lack of resident progenitor cells and very limited proliferative potential of adult CMs. Poor retention of transplanted cells is the critical bottleneck of heart regeneration. Here, we report the invention of a poly l-lactic acid - b -poly ethylene glycol - b -poly N-Isopropylacrylamide copolymer and its self-assembly into nanofibrous gelling microspheres NF-GMS. The NF-GMS undergo thermally responsive transition to form not only a 3D hydrogel after injection in vivo, but also exhibit architectural and structural characteristics mimicking the native extracellular matrix ECM of nanofibrous proteins and gelling proteoglycans or polysaccharides. By integrating the ECM-mimicking features, injectable form, and the capability of maintaining 3D geometry after injection, the transplantation of hESC-derived CMs carried by NF-GMS led to a striking fold graft size increase over direct CM injection in an infarcted rat model, which is the highest reported engraftment to date. Furthermore, NF-GMS carried CM transplantation dramatically reduced infarct size, enhanced integration of transplanted CMs, stimulated vascularization in the infarct zone, and led to a substantial recovery of cardiac function. Keywords: Block copolymer; cell transplantation; heart regeneration; hydrogel; nanofiber.
