This post is specifically for those who have a problem with the casting of Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase. First, let me be clear I am speaking here only for myself. These thoughts are mine alone. They do not necessarily reflect or represent the opinions of any part of Disney, the TV show, the production team, or the Jeffries family. The response to the casting of Leah has been overwhelmingly positive and joyous, as it should be. She will be a role model for new generations of girls who will see in her the kind of hero they want to be.

She is the intelligent half-blood daughter of Athena who helps her friend Percy Jackson. Annabeth is described as being "five steps ahead" of everyone. She first comes off as methodological, cold, authoritarian and even slightly socially awkward, but in actuality has the spirit of a fighter and a warrior. She apparently sees potential in people as upon seeing Percy, immediately began to test him and put him against odds, somewhat without his permission. She is shown to have a snarky attitude, but is an overall good and heroic person. Annabeth is depicted as a young African-American girl, with long braided hair. Her attire seems to consist of a grey shirt, blue button up, a purple coat, dark grey pants, and a necklace.
