I have never worked on or even actually owned a snowmobile but I have been through plenty of old motorcycle carbs and just wanted something basic to putt around the yard and do some leisurely trail riding so I thought this would be great. I pulled the fuel line from the impulse pump off of the carb and pulled on it a few times, and gas is coming out. I feel triumphant. I do have a fire extinguisher handy in my shop so I give it a poof, it burned for maybe 10 or 15 seconds. I went on ebay and found an auction for a clutch that looks similar from a 73 panther that was about to end, so I hastily bid on it. Then I went to try and take the old one off - got the bolts off ok, could not get the clutch off - tried the "water trick" from youtube but it does not seem to work with this clutch design the bolt is kind of 2 pieces, there is a bolt that threads into the crank, and a separate sleeve that threads into the clutch. I came back here to research and it sounds like a common thing on this motor.

Any need help would be greatly appreciated. Great sled for riding with the family.
