So I was experimenting with the new Tek Trough to see how much more efficent it is compared to its old counter part and I was severly unsatisfied. It can only hold 40 more slots compared to the regular feeding trough and just refridgerates it. Sounds good right? Not so much considering you need a tek generator and spare element to run it. Better yet, you can't even put wyvern milk in it! It's easier to make a bunch of feeding trough and cook the meat, rather than bothering to make a tek trough.

Put food for your nearby pets in this, and they'll automatically eat it when hungry! Can refridgerate items, so long as it's powered by a Tek Generator! Much like Feeding Trough , the Tek Trough can hold almost any type of food for any tames. While it too allows strange items as Stone or Sulfur for creatures such as the Rock Elemental , it does not allow Feces for Dung Beetles. Tames within its range eat from the trough before consuming food in their inventory. Any and all foods can be placed in the trough at once, so Berries , Meat , and so on can all be mixed together to feed all types of tames. It can also be used to craft Iced Canteens and Iced Water Jars , however be careful if you have Gachas , as they will eat them quickly since they have a very low nourishment value and will thus be prioritized by it. Including Waterskins and Tek Canteen , even thought they don't function with it. Food placed in the trough while powered has its spoil time multiplied by same as the Refrigerator. The Tek Trough must be powered by the Tek Generator , otherwise food inside will spoil as if a survivor was carrying it and not as a normal Feeding Trough would.

Really big dissapointment with it, hopefully it'll get some touch ups to make it worth while to make.

The Feeding Trough in ARK: Survival Evolved simplifies the feeding of nearby tames, allowing them to eat from a shared trough instead of having food in their own inventories, and thereby potentially reducing spoilage from multiple stacks. The Feeding Trough does not require a foundation for placement, and as such does not interfere with the spawning of natural resources. It does not snap to other structures. Feeding troughs may also be placed and used underwater for taking care of marine creatures. The trough works through walls and from higher elevations, so there is no need to put them in water if you have a base above or adjacent to your water pen, nor is it necessary for animals in individual pens to have individual troughs.

Tek trough is hardly useless. Put food for your nearby pets in this, and they'll automatically eat it when hungry! It also makes the troughs without meat instantly visible for filling when you have more time than a ten minute hop on to imprint.

Not so much considering you need a tek generator and spare element to run it. Level It's expensive, but still has a usefulness.
