Arlong is a sawshark fish-man. He was captain of the all fish-man crew, the Arlong Pirates, and a former member of the Sun Pirates, arlongs crew.

The Arlong Pirates are led by Arlong. Every member of the crew is a Fishman, except for Nami who later left. They believe they are above humans as the stronger species, looking down on them as mere maggots. Bellemere was only able to pay for her daughters, so Arlong killed her as an example, leaving her adopted daughters Nami and Nojiko.

Aladdin is a brotula merman who is the doctor of the Sun Pirates. Choo is a smelt-whiting fishman and officer of the Arlong Pirates. Fisher Tiger was a sea bream Fish-Man and the founder and original captain of the Sun Pirates, who were notorious for freeing the slaves from Marie Jois. He is considered a hero of Fish-Man Island. Macro is a macropharynx fishman and captain of the Macro Pirates. Momoo is a giant sea cow who was once apart of Arlong's crew.

Following the death of his former captain, Fisher Tiger , Arlong was captured and sent to Impel Down , but received a pardon thanks to his comrade Jinbe becoming one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
