Curated By: Siddarth Sriram. The third and final T20I between India Women and Australia Women is expected to be an exciting affair as it will decide the fate of the series. The Women in Blue pulled off a dominant start to the home assignment with a 9-wicket victory in the opening T20I. Australia bounced back in style in the following game. The visitors won the second T20I by six wickets, keeping their hopes alive in the three-match series. Australia won the toss and sent the hosts to bat first. Among the Indian batters, only three could breach the run mark. All-rounder Deepti Sharma folded up as the top scorer, registering 30 off 27 balls. In response, Australia made a blistering start, with their openers adding 51 runs to the scoresheet. Tahila McGrath and Ellyse Perry completed the remaining task as Australia reached the target with one over in hand. Perry played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs, which was laced with three boundaries and two sixes. It was just not meant to be for the Indian women who lost the game out the gate when they were forced to bat first. A subpar showing from the Indian top-order batters once again set the stage for the likes of hard-hitters like Richa Ghosh to have to dig them out of trouble and put up a respectable score.
Alyssa Healy.
Just watch out for her. She may have missed out on a well-deserved hundred tonight, but the baby-faced batting genius displayed great strength and application to wade her way out of trouble after a scratchy start. Thanks to her knock, and the association with the legendary Perry of course, Australia have gone up in the series with 2 more to go. Can India square the series with a win on Saturday? Do remember to join us for the second ODI on the weekend. Same place, same time.
