I remember early satellite internet which used a combination of a satellite dish for downloads and dial-up internet for uploads, but the technology has improved. Needless to say he came up against an issue and he spent an hour and a half trying to resolve but couldn't. He escalated it for some to come out. And that is where it all ended, here I am a week later, despite 2 calls to Avonline and 6 to Gigaclear, I have no internet. Avonline are not responding to me and neither are they responding to Gigaclear. Neighbours were having broadband installed with this company, but the workman decided they would use our front garden as a footpath, across our grass, which had recently been done. On asking them to stop there was no apology, it was as if I was putting them out and I had done something wrong! Date of experience: May 27, I suspect the monitoring is faulty because I simply do not see how we can be using so much data, given that we don't watch much Netflix and don't do any gaming at all - mostly just emails. Outages are frequent, and they never apologise, let alone pay any compensation I have asked, after an outage that lasted most of a day. Trying to call customer service is a nightmare.

Because of this, web pages load very slowly, and things like checking email can take longer than they do with normal broadband. It seems that they have way too many users, and their network is saturated. The main problem now is that you will spend many hours on hold listening to how good they are and if you'd like you can use the online chat service but without internet that's impossible and when you can they don't answer. I can honestly say that this is without the worst customer service that I have ever had the misfortune to encounter in all my life. Comments Avonline!! Comments Absolutely execrable service. It works wonderfully in poor signal areas. Comments Avonline is a company that you should steer well clear of! To my delight they recommended a very small EE device which works virtually anywhere and receives 4G and then 3G signal in a PC or phone.
