Talk about a change of pace… For this trip we really wanted to find a resort that was family-friendly, baha mar hotel reviews, yet also had the amenities and perks that we would look for in a hotel if we were planning a vacation without kids. Our check in was probably the most frustrating experience of the trip. After arrival, it took 90 minutes for our room to be ready and after that, it took another 90 minutes to get our luggage from the bell hop which was frustrating because it made us late for our only dinner reservation.

It took me a while to get this post together because, well life happened, plus I brought along my new drone, and it took me a while to put together a video of my trip. What does that mean your probably thinking?? I arrived as an SLS guest which included free airport pickup in a swanky Mercedes SUV, along with a lovely greeting by a hotel representative and a short trip to the hotel. Being picked up at the airport was beyond easy — in the Bahamas a few of the hotels have their own desk at arrivals and the Baha Mar is one of them. If you stay at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar there is an airport pick up option you can purchase at an additional cost. The SLS team was pretty amazing from start to finish. From the moment I arrived they took care of my luggage, the check in was quick, easy, and I was offered a drink right away so it appeared very seamless to me!

When the Baha Mar resort complex in the Bahamas finally opened its doors three years after filing for bankruptcy, buyouts and controversy, the Grand Hyatt was the first hotel on the half-mile beachfront development to accept reservations. It opened April As I prefer small, boutique properties or high-end luxury brands , I will be the first to admit that I had low expectations for the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar , especially when compared to the hotel's sister properties, run by Rosewood and SLS.
