It's a powerful swimmer which has adapted to the shallows so remarkably well that it rapidly recovers from injuries when near the water's surface. Conversely, it's vulnerable to deep water pressure, which slowly causes it harm. Basilosaurus is usually closely followed by other predatory creatures, as its eating habits leave plenty of scraps for scavengers to consume. It is a gentle creature towards humans and happily laps up food directly from them. However, the creatures that trail the "Basi" tend to become dangerously enraged whenever this occurs, as it leaves no leftovers for them. Despite the hassle of engaging with its ornery followers, many tribes still attempt to tame the Basilosaurus, as its mammalian, warm-blooded circulation provides a rider with perfect comfort from both heat and cold. Being apprehensive in nature, Basilosaurus is equipped with a defense mechanism that prevents it from being stunned or shocked. Alternatively, Basilosaurus is hunted perhaps too vigorously for its special blubber, which can be efficiently refined into gasoline! Unlike many other huge marine animals, the Basilosaurus is not aggressive and tolerates survivors and other animals unless attacked. When taming however, beware; when it eats it creates a cloud of red around its mouth presumably blood which will attract other animals near it, including aggressive Megalodon and Manta.

Basilosaurus is usually closely followed by other predatory creatures, as its eating habits leave plenty of scraps for scavengers to consume. The only danger the Brute Basilosaurus currently proposes is to soak up your time on the hunt, basilosaurus ark.

For the past two weeks or so we've been hunting high level Basils in an attempt to find some that might be able to survive the underwater caves. At first we found quite a few but killed them all due to them being low level. After a few days we noticed that the amount of Basils we were finding was steadily decreasing until we might find two up in the entire ocean. We decided to use the destroywilddinos command to refresh all the dinos on the server and then we saw there were around 20 on the map now. I'm curious what could have been taking the spawn slots in place of the Basils. Basically everything in the ocean besides the regular fish we slaughtered en masse in an attempt to get the Basils to spawn.

The Basilosaurus Solatiumfecit is a water creature that was first seen during the late Eocene period and has a piscivore diet along with a passive temperament. This creature appears to have similarities with other modern whale-like creatures although it seems to be limited to shallow waters. A wild Basilosaurus does not attack humans nor will it fight back but usually there will be other sea creatures following it that will attack those who harm it. Tribes that have tamed a Basilosaurus can make use of it for a safer encounter with most underwater creatures as well as its ability to produce oil that can be used for crafting. The Basilosaurus has adapted to being in shallow water and appears to heal much quicker while in the deeper parts of the sea, it appears to actually drown and eventually die. Smaller creatures tend to follow the Basilosaurus around since it leaves behind scraps for them to feed off of and in return, they will protect it when threatened.
