Avanti is a classic holiday restaurant, which combines a beautiful location next to the harbour, with a great menu of both local specialities and international dishes. Families are welcomed and the long list of dishes includes their well-loved pizzas. Huge awnings shade the guests of Restaurant Aquarium against the hot Menorcan sun, as they are brought plate after plate of delicious Mediterranean food. Aquarium, as the name suggests, specialises heavily in seafood. However, they take it quite literally as each table has the quirky addition of a goldfish swimming around in a mini aquarium. You can have a toastie for lunch or lobster stew for dinner, they also cater well for children.

Lovely to sit central to the main square at the Marina. We are cheesy garlic bread to start, followed by gorgonzola tortellini and prawn linguine. Gorgeous food. Ended with chocolate brownies. Two cappuccinos. All washed down before hand with two large red glasses and two small beers. Bill just a little under 30 Euros. We sat, watched and listened to the entertainment on the square and were even greater to a dancing group who danced in formation. Wonderful atmosphere. Just wish they waitress who served us could have been happier.

Menorca's earth really makes a difference to the taste of locally grown vegetables - restaurants who can show locally sourced ingredients will stand out in flavour. Cala en Bosch has a very mixed bag of restaurants across all styles and price levels. IMO no standout local cuisine restaurant.

The food was excellent especially the pizzas, in fact my 8 year old daughter said they were the best in the world!!. Given that Cala en Bosch is a 'mass tourism' resort for Menorca's standards there are a lot of international guests which is reflected in the food choice. Now in winter only coffees, beers and little else it is in an uninhabited urbanization , but with such a service, both in human and professional qualities, one would spend half the time in bars like this one. This place is amazing. Zoom into…. Some bars stay open until later but there are no nightclubs. We tried food too, and you cannot go wrong. Absolutely love this restaurant. Matteous is really friendly and the beer is the best we tasted on the island. We also managed to find things gluten free as we are both coeliacs. Good place to go for meat instead of all the fish restaurants. Just so yummy!

This, combined with the fact that they stayed open an extra half an hour just for us on the first night of our holiday when we were close to starvation they even offered us dessert which we didnt take only because we felt guilty about how late it was earns them a well deserved five stars. Track your travel spending and split costs with friends. Slick and friendly service and a really varied menu. The house wine is very drinkable, the sangria is good and you each get a free glass if you have to wait for a table , the complementary sorbete de gin de Menorca with the bill is deliciously lemony and palate-cleansing. Great little place. The waiter we had was also really friendly and fantastic with the kids! The majority are located all around the marina so it just makes sense to stroll a slow circuit and then decide which one is 'your scene'. And 2 local cervesas.
