I have an elderly 60lb German shorthaired pointer I bought the largest bed available and it's not wide enough. She likes elevated beds because her hips are bad and it makes getting up in the morning easier. But I wouldn't recommend this one. Hard for her to adjust her position and not a comfortable pad. I'm tempted to go buy a different mattress for the frame as I like the frame and it's sturdier than most raised beds. Usually she loves a new bed and I had to coax her on this one she doesn't seem thrilled and was up twice in the middle of the night. Once I took it out of box my girl got right up on it and has not got up for last 6 hrs.
