Bigjigs Toys is a proud family business which crafts sustainably made toys and playthings to help children bigjigs toys ltd and develop through play. We burst into the toy industry back inwhen made wooden puzzles from old floorboards in our small garden shed in Kent! Things have moved on a little in the 38 years since, with our toys now sold in more than countries around the world. The business has grown enormously since then but remains family run. Grandchildren Arthur and Edith even get involved with testing the toys! It really is a family affair. They are tested to European and American safety standards and made using quality materials. Our mission: To deliver quality, safe and affordable products which are responsibly sourced and complement childhood development through fun, exploration and learning. Make lasting memories with our durable toys! Made primarily from quality plywood and rubberwood, and harvested from replenishable forests, we do our best to minimise our environmental impact whilst ensuring our customers enjoy great value toys. Peter was learning to be a Craft Design teacher and began making wooden toys in his spare time. Friends and family were so impressed by his wooden creations that they kept asking him to make toys for them! Realising he was onto something, Peter began making wooden jigsaws from floorboards, which he and wife Liz sold at craft fairs all across the UK. Liz and Peter were both teachers by profession so have always had child development and education at the heart of what they do. One school holiday, Peter and Liz made the decision to give up teaching and pursue the toys business full time. Bigjigs Toys was born! Bigjigs Toys has grown enormously since , but still remains family run. Liz and Peter are still involved in every aspect of the toy production, from the toy design to packing your order.
