Buffalo Bills running back Damien Harris was carried off the field in an ambulance with a neck injury during Sunday's matchup against the New York Giants. Injury Update: Damien Harris neck is out for game. He has movement in his arms and legs. Harris is being taken to hospital for further testing. The injury occurred late in the second quarter as Harris took a handoff up the middle and was met by Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke. Players from both teams signaled for the Bills training staff to aid Harris immediately after the play.

As of Tuesday, they do not have a linebacker on the practice squad. In what may have been a preemptive move to open a practice squad spot, the Bills released running back Leonard Fournette Tuesday. With Ty Johnson recovered from his concussion, the Bills are back to three healthy backs on the active roster with James Cook and Latavius Murray, so Fournette is not needed. In two games for the Bills when he was elevated from the practice squad, Fournette carried 12 times for 40 yards and was never targeted in the passing game. He did a phenomenal job, and so we just, we move forward and that we wish him well and thank him for his time when he was with us here. Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was in critical condition early Tuesday after suffering a cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, the Bills said in a statement. The NFL game was postponed after Hamlin, 24, collapsed on the field—prompting medical personnel to begin CPR and rush him off the field in an ambulance, according to the game broadcast. After he attempted to stand up he quickly collapsed. Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition. As staff tended to him, a number of other players appeared shaken up, including some who were caught on camera with tears in their eyes. The entire Bills team quickly took to the field and knelt down in prayer as the stadium went silent. Fans in Cincinnati cheered encouragingly as the team retired to its locker room. It took the NFL roughly an hour following the frightening incident to officially postpone the game—as stunned broadcasters sat, often in silence, while they attempted to make sense of the situation.
