Absolutely appalling developer and would genuinely and strongly encourage first time buyers to look elsewhere. We moved into our house on Edwalton Park, Nottingham, in October , when after being in the property for a matter of weeks the shower blew cascading water all through the house and into the kitchen and living room. They refused to budge and after strong escalation above, a satisfactory redress was offered. Then, after a few months in the property, Severn Trent noticed our water meter spinning and uncovered a huge leak under our drive which meant that the entire drive had to be dug up. This was done over a matter of days with ground-workers who felt it appropriate to take selfies in the "trench" that they had dug.

We loved the layout, loved the position of the house and to be honest, from start to finish it was all very smooth sailing. We have two daughters and a grandson, so we have to have rooms for our family and friends when they want to visit us. I bought the house off-plan, so I could choose all my items, nice kitchen with quartz worktop, flooring, and carpets and I upgraded my bathroom, so it was just the way I wanted it. The beauty of having a new build is that I can walk into the house and everything is done. The best thing about the whole journey was the Bloor sales team.

Has anyone else had a bad experience with Bloor homes and part exchange? Bloor states 'no chain, no-risk' when it comes to part exchange, so we took the hit and agreed to sell our home to them at a knockdown price for a stress-free experience. This was a big relocation for us and we fell in love with the area as much as the new house. They put our home on the market straight away, and we placed a deposit on theirs. Their mortgage broker had the mortgage approved within 3 weeks. We booked our upgrades, paid for gas surveys and electrical surveys on our own home, as requested by Bloor which came to a few hundred pounds and came back clear. Then an out of area surveyor came and he told us before he left that there was nothing to worry about. This was later confirmed by a Bloor rep. The surveys were passed and all was good. We had recently installed new kitchen with new appliances in our old home so we knew it would sell soon.

Not only was there pressure from the sales team to exchange contracts, when we did eventually move into our Bloor home, it was nothing like the picture advertised in the site sales office. Finally we moved in a week before Christmas. If you look at the number of houses they build versus the number of reviews then it may give you a better sense of proportion. If at any point Bloor senior sales management wish to come and see us, we'd be honest and advise on where things could have and should have been better. When people do feel let down they naturally feel upset, but vent full anger on review sites, sometimes justified, sometimes not. We were asked what our criteria were, what it was we were looking for and they went above and beyond showing us all the features of the property, different areas of the estate and really tried to tailor it to what we needed. We still have some outstanding issues which are spoiling our home and certainly not what we thought we would be having to deal with when we purchased. How much are you paying and do all houses in the Development pay the same? Hi, I found this site after signing for the house. One they have your money they don't care. I would not buy again and cannot recommend. Im going to go straight into it. My understanding is many people have only experienced minor problems but as I said you do expect some problems but it is how a company manages these that makes the difference. Please heed my advice from experience. They should be on cow boy builders because that is what they are. Many thanks. My neighbour has stripped out his stairs and refitted with appropriate support as he found out that his stairs were simply floating and bounced as he walked on them and he is a slim chap. We bought a new Bloor home in and it was very well finished. We may yet apply to "Watchdog" to get this pantomime on TV. They made things as easy as possible!
