A couple of days ago I had to re-install everything. The Mac email works fine, the Blueyonder is giving me problems, at first it got the mail ok, then after that it stopped working, kept asking for the password, then I got a message saying there is a serious fault and that it's not a pop address, I should change the Gmail settings. I have spent hours looking on Virgin and Google, just can't figure it out, can someone please help. Have you asked on the virginmedia. It can be very flaky at times, constantly asking for passwords, but seems OK at the moment. That's a problem because the average Usenet client program works with plain text only. I have an old blueyonder email account that it would be useful to recover some important emails from. Can someone contact me to help with this? The address is still active as I still receive emails from another alias that forwards to my gmail account. Can you log into the account via webmail? If not is there any error message? Is the account connected to an active broadband account? If not then the address may have been deleted. As you're an existing customer, you should be able to access the email address directly. When I try to log in to my blueyonder e-mail account with the last password that I set or previous ones. I get a message that the username or e-mail address is wrong. I then go through the procedure to reset my password, involving a message being sent to another non-virgin e-mail account, and then from that setting a new password, but when I try to log in with that new password, it again says that the username or e-mail address is wrong. Go to Answer. If using an email client then the username remains the blueyonder email address but you then need to use a generated app password. The symptoms you report suggest that you are trying to use VM webmail but with the blueyonder email address as the username rather than the third party one.
