The blue rabbit-like creatures first appeared in Breath of the Wild as wild providers of the fictional currency, and have now returned for its sequel in a similar capacity. However, just as much of Hyrule has now changed with the Upheaval, there is now more to Blupees than meets the eye. Blupees are small and skittish creatures that can withstand any attack leveled against them in a manner similar to Cuzco's albeit without the threat of painful vengeance. Successfully hitting a Blupee will earn Link a random number of Rupees, which the Blupee drops in its escape. Blupees are notably found in large amounts on Satori Mountain, home to the horse-like Lord of the Mountain, Satori. Interestingly, Blupees both share several features with this mystical being and flock to Satori when he appears. Now, in Tears of the Kingdom , it turns out that seeking out Blupees provides another benefit for Link as he explores Hyrule.
