Bottle cap wind chime

So, this bottle cap wind chime chime needs a little equipment to complete such as a drill, or a jewellery hole punch — I guess you probably could use a nail and hammer as well but I think that would be difficult because of the size of the bottle tops you will be working with.

Bottle cap wind chime
How to make a wind chime out of recycled bottle caps. This is a great way to create a colorful vintage look wind chime that can be used indoor or out. A fun trash to treasure project! Creating from recycled items can result in amazing things. This week, I created a wind chime made from metal bottle caps, jewelry jump rings, and an old metal basket. Junk never looked so good! This is Suzy from SuzysSitcom. My husband and I have been living full time in our RV and traveling the country since Currently, we are working on a farm in New York, but in the past, we have worked many different campgrounds across the United States. That said, a few years ago we found ourselves in a campground in the Boston area. It was a beautiful campground, but full of folks that loved to toss their bottle caps everywhere.
However the children also really liked having it there, playing with it and grabbing the tops and trying to make them hit each other — it was only a matter of time before someone accidentally got hit in the eye with it, or something like that! What kind of sound does THAT wind chime make? Even so, I love the idea of making a sensory garden with bottle cap wind chime son, Cynthia.
I love this collection of Bottle Caps! You must have folks help you save them! Smiles, Cyndi. I ordered this assortment from Amazon I happen to already have this exact antique coffee tin.
Hope you enjoy this DIY project! I was inspired to make this project by the many bottle caps I have saved throughout the year. I thought this would be a cute and fun project to hang on my back porch. The supplies needed for this project are simple! Bottle caps, paint, glitter glue, string, mason jar lid and a hot glue gun! The bottle caps are recycled and the rest of the supplies I picked up at Walmart. The first step is to paint the bottle caps. I also added glitter glue to some of the caps for a little sparkle! Once the paint and glitter glue dry down completely spray them with a sealer. Take your hot glue gun and glue down a string to each side of the mason jar lid to create a handle for hanging.

I love your chime and i have been saving bottle caps too make one. Personally, I chose to only add chains to the outside of my center piece, but I may go back and add additional chains one day soon. So, this wind chime needs a little equipment to complete such as a drill, or a jewellery hole punch — I guess you probably could use a nail and hammer as well but I think that would be difficult because of the size of the bottle tops you will be working with. I did this with about bottle tops for each of my four lengths of fishing thread on the dream catcher hoop, then used another, shorter length of the thread to loop at the top of the dream catcher hoop to create a hook to hang the wind chime from. Prepare the base to add the rows of bottle caps. Thank you. Using jump rings and pliers, attach the rows of bottle caps to the base, spreading the rows evenly around the base. I have almost ! But I'm finding it will still rust For my wind chime, I chose to add three jump rings between each bottle cap. So I decided to paint my caps! Constructing the Chains. Instead of throwing them away, mi amigos now drop their caps into this re purposed coffee can. I finally got to make mine tonight! I imagine some are aluminum but those which aren't may get rusty over time.
All you have to do is find your favorite DIY wind chime tutorial from my list, below, and make it! This is a very beautiful and very decorative wind chime made from agate slices.
I will make sure to document my results! The metal disks I used on the bottom of my wind chime are from cans of dough. Add the rows of bottle caps to the base using jump rings. My son collects bottle caps and is looking for a project in which he can use them for 4-H. All of the chains finally attached to the center piece. Subscribe to: Post Comments Atom. Can't wait to get started!! Once all the bottle tops were clean, dry and hole punched, then it came time to make the wind chime itself. I knew that I would want to thread the fishing wire through both sides of the bottle top, so roughly aligned the holes to be able to do this. Great job doing that. An odd experience to be sat at the kitchen table washing old beer bottle tops I have to say! Next Continue. Use a small metal punch and a hammer to punch two holes in each bottle cap. I nail the nail through a bottle cap, so my tin or whatever I'm putting up there wont blow off so easily. Maybe some lacquer from a hardware store that you could lightly spray like how people weather proof the metal hardware for a porch or swingset.
Quite, all can be
