Botw challenges
I'm currently at the end of my 4 shrine, no tower run. I clipped into all four Great Plateau shrines so that I didn't have to activate the tower. Doing so makes me unable to access any other shrine in the game, making my only warp points the Divine Beasts and Tech labs. I also didn't upgrade my stamina, so I've been at base stamina the whole game. Also, because I can't get up to 13 hears, no Master Sword. I thought the Blight Ganons would be insane with so little hearts, but I decided to try strength food, and I destroyed them never did that until this run. Just got the Hylian shield, and I'll be heading in to fight Ganon soon. Some interesting things about this run, is that since I didn't activate the Great Plateau tower, none of the other towers rise. I expected their collision to still be there, and them just to be invisible, but they just flat out don't exist. Where the Hateno tower should be is just a bunch of floating thorns, and above where the Great Hyrule Forest tower should be is a big floating rock. It's funny.
I've never felt like I needed to go out of my way to farm hearty foods.
Open-world games had been around for a number of years before Nintendo's flagship series dipped its toes into the genre, but The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was cut from a different cloth. After Link wakes up in the Shrine of Resurrection and steps out into the Great Plateau, you can enjoy Hyrule at your own pace. While there is the main goal of defeating Calamity Ganon, the journey towards that point is defined by freedom and exploration. Link does not even need to free the Divine Beasts before facing the final boss. Consequently, Breath of the Wild is made for challenge runs, especially since no two playthroughs are going to be exactly the same. What are some in-world limitations that can help elevate the game's difficulty or give it a unique tone? Master Mode is, naturally, also an option.
Since the dawn of gaming itself, there have been players who seek the thrill and accomplishment of challenges for any and all types of games. The Legend of Zelda is one of the founding fathers of modern gaming and hence has had countless of player-created challenges throughout the years. However, Zelda is a series with quite a long development time, so fans make the best out of whatever games they have, making new and fun experiences for their favorite titles. Which self-imposed challenges seen in the Zelda series stick out from the rest? It is usually a requirement to restart your entire save file upon death, making the beginning of your journey way more careful and slower-paced, and boss fights become a heart-pumping, high-stakes battle. This self-imposed challenge turns Link into Bear Grylls, having to use every resource possible to ensure survival without the help of a mini-map or radar. Rupees lose all monetary value, as Link is only able to use resources collected from the great Hylian wild, meaning that Beedle will be a little lacking in business. Stables essentially become nothing but landmarks, as comfy beds become a restricted luxury. This type of challenge run is most familiar in games like Undertale , but the same basic principles apply here.

Speak to Chio , a medium-sized Korok with a mushroom on his head standing on a tree stump to the right of the entrance to the Great Deku Tree. He challenges Link to complete three Shrine Quests :. To begin this shrine quest, speak to Zooki in Korok Forest. He's found dancing on top of a rock along the path leading into the Lost Woods and will tell you:. Equip Magnesis and you'll instantly see what that means. Certain trees will have metallic rocks in their maws. Continue past the first one to the second tree. Then hang a right and you'll spot the next one in the distance. You'll get attacked by a Stal Moblin and Stalkoblin, as well as a goat and some Keese on the way.

What do the numbers in the inventory for clothes and weapons mean? Also, because I can't get up to 13 hears, no Master Sword. DiogenesKC 4 years ago 2. They saved Princess Zelda and all of Hyrule from their malice-ridden trappings, all without breaking a sweat. You never have to cook anything else ever again, besides for the occasional special effect. I have no sense of direction so I would end up going the wrong way a lot I can easily decide where to go, look at a menu for a minute and then head off in the wrong direction , go over the same areas several times and miss others entirely, but as long as I don't mind missing stuff I think it could be interesting as a different experience to how I usually play. A good source of chili peppers is the woods around the Rito Village lake and the end of the Lanayru Promenade right by the Lynel. After Link wakes up in the Shrine of Resurrection and steps out into the Great Plateau, you can enjoy Hyrule at your own pace. This is part of the problem I have with directions, I tend to consider certain things to be absolutes, and tend to think if I can go between two places without deliberately turning then I'm going in a straight line. Without the glider to soften Link's landing, failing to reach the top means instant death.

This was achieved by using a raft, a lot of octo balloons, and a clever use of physics. The Breath of the Wild community has more than proven this with their incredible range of strange, but no less wonderful, gameplay techniques. This challenge run demands that Link only heals at inns, making every encounter truly feel dangerous. The elemental arrows are particularly useful, giving you an advantage against monsters like Wizzrobes if you use the correct arrow type. What do you need help on? It's divided into 15 regions , and Link has to climb the Sheikah Towers to activate the maps for each area. Also some NPCs will react to the fact that you're not fully dressed. At this point, if you are intimidated you can back away from the Lynel's territory and it will leave you alone. Breath of the Wild's map might not be the biggest ever, but it is huge. Not even sleeping by the fire will fix it. At some point I might try doing a run where I don't unlock any of the map and have to play without it. EDIT: Unless the in-game text specifically described something as being crafted with animal materials, I generally head-cannoned it as vegan, even if the developers might have intended it to be leather or whatever. Here are some of the stranger ways that Zelda fans have spiced up their Breath of the Wild gameplay.
I congratulate, what necessary words..., a remarkable idea
The theme is interesting, I will take part in discussion. Together we can come to a right answer.
The excellent and duly answer.
