Sign In. Captain America: Civil War Hide Spoilers. AlsExGal 30 July What impresses me about this movie is how much good was done in a short amount of time for each character. There are really clever time-saving 'tricks' like Tony using the broom to bust open the hatch that caused the Spidey costume to come dangling down. That saved them minutes of precious dialogue; it just cut straight to the point. And during that whole scene in Peter's place, almost every line of dialogue counted toward something important, with just enough 'fluff' to make it sound like a real conversation instead of 'movie dialogue' the funny asides like 'please move your leg' and 'your ridiculously hot aunt' , etc. The same is true about the scene near the beginning with Tony's holographic 'flashback'. That scene served so many purposes at once - first, it got me caught up in the background story; then, it gave me an insight into Tony's attitudes and regrets concerning his parents; then, when it was shown that it was a therapy technique, it showed me that Tony still has unresolved emotional issues concerning his parents, which then set up the stage for a reveal that causes Tony's later actions. These two previously mentioned scenes took about four or five minutes tops, and many other scenes in the film managed to squeeze in a half-hour's worth of material per scene into 5-minute snippets by accomplishing a lot of stuff simultaneously story-building AND character-building AND plot development , and making it feel natural and not rushed or forced. This film serves as a great example for others to study when it comes to screenwriting effectiveness. Something really remarkable was done here.
Some of the visuals are incredibly well done. One of the best EVER!

The more I think about Captain America: Civil War , the more I like it even though it is an absolutely exhausting film. Captain America: Civil War is a superhero film that undermines its superheroes. He can no longer be the rock of the Marvel universe, and this is a movie with no rock. Following a mission in Lagos, an accidental explosion is the final straw that calls for the Sokovia Accords, a document that would make the Avengers subservient to a UN council.

I have seen a Spiderman movie where Spidey's main squeeze was killed because Spidey was a few seconds late. Im gonna touch a few aspects and rate them. Tony could absolutely suck up to T'Challa and save the team a lot of grief- and shave off some of the truly epic runtime. When an incident involving Wanda Maximoff causes a deadly explosion in Lagos, the UN want to regulate the use of the Avengers. Everyone sensed a growing unease in the collective gestalt, so they compensated by more partying, less critical thinking, and going to more movies. It's superhero conflict done right! I am not sure this is a good thing but I seem to be in the minority. But despite the cast's collective efforts, there is an obvious battle for screen time with all characters. Was this review helpful? The plot is engaging and for the most part easy to follow and the pacing is solid. In terms of narrative ambition, and giving meaningful screen time to an ever-growing stable of onscreen characters, Civil War rivals Joss Whedon's MCU standout The Avengers. The real winner here is Team Marvel. You have no idea what he's plotting for a good chunk of the movie. In Captain America: Civil War, disagreement over international oversight of the Avengers fractures them into opposing factions-one led by Steve Rogers and the other by Tony Stark. In many places it seemed like these 'friends' are trying to crush or blast the other 'team' with no mercy.
Ant-Man : [internally damaging the Iron Man suit] Oh, you're going to have to take this to the shop. Iron Man : Who's speaking?
It features a very big ensemble cast and not one of them is anything less than great on the role. Simply pick the one you like. Civil War is an expertly made film all around. One aspect of Civil War I find especially fascinating is the use of its villain, Zemo. Shame really, this could have been so much more. The villain is something that most people though it was the weakest point but I strongly disagree with that. As he would in every one afterwards. Stellar cast, great characters, top-notch special effects, excellent action sequences, comedic relief and Memorable: No Rewatchable: Unlikely. There are really clever time-saving 'tricks' like Tony using the broom to bust open the hatch that caused the Spidey costume to come dangling down. And if you look it up you'll see that the so-acclaimed airport fight was shot by second-unit directors.
And still variants?
Quite right! I think, what is it good thought. And it has a right to a life.
