Background: The use of wearable cuffless blood pressure BP devices is becoming commercially prevalent with little published validation information. Most devices rely, at least in part, on the relationship between pulse arrival time PAT and BP, a theoretical fundamental relationship that was first commercially exploited in with the release of the Casio BP digital watch. Device accuracy was determined by comparison to a conventional cuff-based BP device measurements. Methods: Twenty participants 11 female, 9 male had BP measured using both devices at rest, during a 5-minute isometric hand-grip exercise and at 1-minute post-exercise. Results: Due to bidirectional scatter of BP estimation by the BP device, there was no significant difference between the reference device and the BP Conclusions: Despite being an industry first, the Casio BP watch employed a method that gives a great chance of accuracy: a two point, individualized calibration method - more detailed than calibration methods in more modern devices.

You can have a graph of your changing BP displayed in timekeeping mode if you wish. Took my readings again today. Sibe posted in Casio G-Shock.

Does anyone know where I might find instructions for these? It i impossible for me at least to figure out how to do anything with either, and I'm sure these both work-just replaced button cells with a CR for the blood pressure watch and a CR for the TV remote control watch. Chas-I owe you one! Thank you so much, exactly what I was hoping for, I will use both. A surprise- the blood pressure monitor watch apparently stored my father's settings! Since he passed away 14 years ago, this ended up being even more special now as I see how it works. I was surprised to see it was newer than I thought. I had used the TV watch so I know it works. I had found this video re the BP watch but the manual is key. I like the comment-not designed for technical people!

Another good thing about the watch is that it shows the current time in all the timekeeping modes, countdown timer etc. Then it seemed the sensor wasn't operating properly, so opening it up again, it appeared to need a connection to the metal cases back. The watch, on average across a cohort, provided some information on BP directional change but was uncorrelated with cuff-based BP measurement. My heart rate is still pretty slow, though it has slowly risen from the mid 40's it was in my twenties to the mid fifties now. I am eyeing this watch along with its successor, the BP You can have a graph of your changing BP displayed in timekeeping mode if you wish. It is Japan made. The watch was made in I believe and uses a 'light bulb' for illumination. I sense these will be gradually gaining in collectability. Was just thinking yesterday, I haven't heard from you in awhile. But how does Casio use these sensors to measure blood pressure? Not much of an issue to just swap it up temporarily though. Those leads measure the electrical signal that accompanies your heart beat. There doesn't seem to be any competition in blood pressure measuring even from the Apple watch haha , unlike pulse measuring. Log in.

If the utility of beat-by-beat BP estimation is to be utilized, limitations of this method need to be addressed. Device accuracy was determined by comparison to a conventional cuff-based BP device measurements. So I fabricated another connection and voila the thing worked. Still here, though I am now in my seventies. You can have a graph of your changing BP displayed in timekeeping mode if you wish. I do still exercise pretty regularly though. The watch is in fine condition, with its original strap and clear crystal, doesn't seem to have had much use at all. In addition, your right hand can only touch the two sensors when measuring because otherwise you would create an alternate conduction path. You have hit the mark. In it something is also idea good, agree with you.
Quite right! I think, what is it good thought. And it has a right to a life.
I consider, that you are mistaken. Let's discuss.
