Amy Canavan is joined by Rory Loy and John Walker — analyst and host of the Scots Abroad podcast — to discuss all the big talking points in Scottish football.

Celtic scored twice in stoppage time as a comeback victory at Motherwell moved them back to two points behind Rangers in the Premiership title race. Adam Idah completed a double on 94 minutes, adding to his smart header at the start of the second half. Fellow substitute Luis Palma added a tap-in while the visiting fans were still celebrating that late reprieve. Blair Spittal had curled in a fantastic shot at the end of a first half the hosts had much the better of. The champions, who had drawn two of their three previous league outings, looked spooked during that period but found some much-needed urgency to dominate the second half.

Hearts got the win they "deserved" at Celtic, said head coach Steven Naismith, as his side ended a long wait for victory at the home of the Scottish Premiership leaders. Naismith's side stunned the champions to secure a first away win over Celtic since and consign them to successive league defeats. Unmarked Lawrence Shankland headed Hearts in front from a corner and Stephen Kingsley's stunning free-kick doubled the lead before half-time. Luis Palma had Celtic's best opportunity but was foiled by Kingsley's last-ditch block. Leaders Celtic remain five points above Rangers, who have two games in hand, while Hearts, in third, move within 11 points of the Ibrox team. It's just another step in what we hope will be a successful run for the club. Brendan Rodgers' side had taken heavy criticism following last Sunday's loss at Kilmarnock but reversed that narrative with a stirring midweek Champions League group stage win over Feyenoord - the club's first at home in 10 years. An early drive from Greg Taylor forced a save from Zander Clark but it was Hearts, beaten in their previous two games, who looked the more comfortable and silenced the home crowd with Shankland's early goal. Cameron Carter-Vickers had been alert to prevent Kingsley's cross finding Alan Forrest but then Celtic switched off, with Shankland waiting at the back post to convert Jorge Grant's delivery from the left. And, after Carter-Vickers had fouled Nathaniel Atkinson, set-piece specialist Kingsley lifted a superb shot over the wall and past Joe Hart. Celtic had been upset with the award of the free-kick.

Champions Celtic held off a spirited Aberdeen to make it two wins out of two in the Scottish Premiership. Liel Abada scored the visitors' opener after VAR overturned an offside decision but Bojan Miovski levelled from close range. Kyogo Furuhashi pounced on a dreadful defensive lapse by Nicky Devlin to fire Celtic back in front and Matt O'Riley sealed victory late on. Aberdeen threatened through Leighton Clarkson's shot wide at and remain on one point after two games. Celtic had come close through Kyogo's chip wide by the time Abada converted Daizen Maeda's header off O'Riley's free-kick. Replays showed Abada had been played onside by Dante Polvara. Graeme Shinnie headed over and Ryan Duncan's shot suffered the same fate as the Dons pressed, but Luis 'Duk' Lopes' pace outstripped Cameron Carter-Vickers as he latched on to Duncan's pass to set up Miovski for a tap in. Parity was short lived, though, as Devlin headed back towards Aberdeen's goal, where Kyogo was all on his own to strike. Goalkeeper Kelle Roos then denied Abada and O'Riley from a free-kick to keep the home side in the game, just. And it almost paid dividends as Miovski burrowed and harried defenders to set up Polvara, whose shot was deflected wide.

Holders Celtic were given an almighty fright by Livingston before reaching their ninth Scottish Cup semi-final in 10 years, with manager Brendan Rodgers conceding he "wasn't comfortable" until two late goals. Daizen Maeda completed his hat-trick before Kyogo Furuhashi made the scoreline more convincing. Celtic were looking to recover from last weekend's league defeat by Hearts and Rodgers admitted "today, we didn't play well, but we won and that makes me very happy". Indeed, the Premiership's bottom side threatened another shock as they twice came from behind to level in search of their first-ever win at Celtic Park. Daniel MacKay's fine finish was sandwiched between two Maeda goals within an action-packed opening 22 minutes. Tete Yengi superbly fired Livingston level again 10 minutes after the break, but Celtic's Japanese forward was on hand to ease home nerves as extra-time loomed before his international colleague added the final flourish. The talk just before kick-off was more about who was not in the respective starting line-ups rather than who was playing. Livingston boss David Martindale admitted he was depressing himself explaining why he had made five, mainly forced, changes but saw a chink of light in the absence of Callum McGregor and Cameron Carter-Vickers. It looked like any optimism would be misplaced when Celtic forged ahead after only seven minutes.
