Gabi Lorentz started Cherry Tree Hill vineyard in '00 with the planting of cabernet sauvignon and riesling, soon followed by merlot, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay.

The Lorentz family have four generations of wine in their veins dating back to their vineyard in Hungary where Gabi's grandfather used to tend the grapes on horse and cart. These days they have taken some of these old world techniques and combined them with cutting-edge technology to produce some of the best cool climate grapes in Australia. Cherry Tree Hill's passion is Riesling and rarely do they have a bad vintage. They make Riesling in a dry style and it can be enjoyed whilst young or aged for many years. Chardonnay and Pinot are also very successful varieties in the Southern Highlands region.
