THE new Clackmannanshire Community Healthcare Centre opened its doors for the first time to visitors on Friday, ahead of patients moving in later this summer. Since then commissioning has been taking place and this work is expected to be finished within the next few weeks. First to move in will be the adult mental health resource centre, followed by Clackmannan and Sauchie Hospitals, and then the replacement Alloa Health Centre. It is expected that around patients a day will be seen in the replacement Alloa Health Centre and services will include three GP practices, community nursing services, treatment rooms, Physiotherapy, Audiology, dental treatments, an out-patients clinic and Dermatology Outreach. Councillor Sam Ovens, the council's portfolio holder for regeneration, and chairman of the Clackmannanshire Community Health Partnership said, "This is a fantastic new development for the people of Clackmannanshire. He told the Advertiser, "It is a fabulous new facility for the people of Clackmannanshire that combines a range of important services from both the council and the NHS. He said, "I was delighted to have the opportunity to look round the new community health centre. We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
