Started by dimevarieties , November 30, This the new addition to the Cherrypickers guide as FS The CPG has it rated as a URS-6 universal rarity scale known and an interest rating at I4 indicating high interest and a liquidity rating at L4 indicating typically sell quickly at listed value to variety collectors. The book does not list any values yet until a market forms and stabilizes. Has anybody else seen one of these? I have seen these raw. I don't know what the real market thinks of the variety quite yet just like you and everyone else.

I was going through some raw coins I've purchased this last year and happened upon a Roosevelt dime from that isn't showing up in CONECAs master listing. I'm not sure if it would even be recognized as a variety and I don't have the proper equipment for extreme magnification nor photography setup to even show you guys. I can describe what I am seeing and see if that helps any. The coin is a P Roosevelt. The first thing I noticed was an irregularity of the bottom left serif on the 'D'. It's what I imagine a split serif to look like without actually ever looking the term up. The same diagnostic is visible on 'I', the outside left leg of the 'M', the inside right leg of the 'M', and the left side of the 'E'. It's also visible to the left of the 'E' in ONE as well. There's a little more visible on the 'N', and then a shadow that makes the 'O' look doubled on the outside bottom edge of the 'O' almost where it touches on the bottom and the inside of the loop also at the bottom.

CONECA , the international error coin and variety club, will be offering free examination of error and variety coins to collectors at educational tables at coin shows across the United States throughout this year and into next. At their coin show tables, different members of the CONECA Board of Directors and other error and variety enthusiasts each with different areas of specialty as available will offer free examination to collectors who bring coins from their collection to the show with questions. CONECA is devoted to education about errors and varieties and will not be buying or selling coins at their tables. CONECA requests that collectors have an idea of what they are asking about on the coins they bring to the shows, to allow for as many collectors as possible to have a chance to have their coins examined. The club just completed a successful time at the spring PAN show. There will also be a show in the west coast at the Pacific Northwest Numismatists show in Tukwila , Washington.
