Jun 4, AM by Kiran S. Today, I applied for a job at Upwork and wasted 4 connects when the client messaged me to connect on Telegram, but I declined, suspecting it was spam. After 5 minutes, the job was reposted. The purpose of sharing this is that Upwork should focus more on clients. Upwork has increased the cost of connects, making it impossible for freelancers who are just starting out and struggling to find jobs. Instead of charging freelancers for connects, Upwork should charge clients for job postings so that they understand the commitment they make when posting a job.
