Crafting is one of the key features in Core Keeper. Crafting allows the player to turn raw materials into useful items like tools , weapons , armor , blocks and furniture. Crafting takes place at various crafting stations. Interacting with a station will bring up its crafting menu. The player is able to craft a few basic items on the crafting interface located in the inventory. Each workbench can access all recipes from the previous tiers.

Blocks are what make up most of a world in Core Keeper. Most of these blocks can be collected and placed elsewhere in the world. Some blocks can be crafted into other useful items. Blocks can be found and placed as either ground or walls. When mining walls, each block has its own health and damage reduction value. The player deals damage to walls using their mining damage stat. If the player's mining damage is equal to or less than the wall's damage reduction, they will deal no damage to it, instead stating "I need higher mining damage", or "My mining damage is too low".
