The Corruption is an evil biome with a dark purple wasteland, death, and decay theme, with an evil forest design to it, in contrast to the red gore theme of its counterpart, The Crimson. Both contain similar hazards and feature their own unique enemies , items , and blocks. The tools , weapons , and armor obtained via Corruption materials are generally faster, but slightly less powerful than those obtained via Crimson materials. Corruption enemies tend to have slightly lower stats, such as health, defense, and damage. Purple thorny bushes grow on the grass and will damage the player when touched. Water in the Corruption is also purple.
The Underground Corruption is a biome. It is the underground version of the surface -level Corruption , appearing at and below the cavern layer. Just like the surface Corruption, it is mainly composed of Ebonstone and spreads to nearby tiles. Although it is available in pre-Hardmode , most of its exclusive contents will only appear during Hardmode. After the Wall of Flesh is defeated for the first time, a diagonal stripe of Corruption is generated, creating additional Underground Corruption biome. Old-gen console and 3DS versions Small pockets of Underground Corruption can be created through the breaking of Demon Altars , which can convert a single random Stone Block in the world into Ebonstone upon destruction. How do you stop Corruption in Terraria? To stop Corruption in Terraria, you must build Hellavators to separate the biomes in your map and connect the Hellevators with two horizontal tunnels that run across the map. All is almost lost, but not quite. Before diving into how to prevent Corruption, we need to chat briefly. You see, Corruption, or the corruption mechanic, can be split into three separate biomes instead of just one.
