Crime is a six-part drama based on the novel of the same name by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh, who also adapted his work for the screen. The story follows Dougray Scott as lead detective and troubled addict DI Ray Lennox, who is looking into the disappearance of a year-old girl. Scott described Welsh's work as "brutal, traumatising, upsetting and deplorable in every sense of the word, but at the same time there's wonderful tenderness within the characters that Irvine just produces", adding: "He has this incredible ability to emotionalise a subject like this so that it's accessible. Dougray Scott Mission: Impossible 2 leads the cast as DI Lennox, who is leading the investigation into the missing schoolgirl - and must confront the "demons" that previously consumed his life.
