Cunard queen mary 2 reviews
Lots of new staff with attitudes and 3 star service. Rooms are outdated and in desperate need of a renovation.
The ship holds a spot in the heart of many types of travelers, but especially those who love history, whether it's maritime history or Gilded Age. The biggest change was in the Kings Court buffet, which features a completely fresh design. The redesign transformed the space from a chaotic feeding frenzy into a calm space for daily grazing. The area could still benefit from more tables; we spotted some passengers taking their plates to Carinthia Lounge at busy times. With four elevators removed and 50 new cabins added during the refurbishment, Cunard QM2 -- as the ship is sometimes known -- could have become overcrowded around the other elevators, but this doesn't seem to be a problem.

We have enjoyed many cruises. The Queen Mary 2 was by far the best yet. It's an ocean liner, not a cruise ship, which meant the "ride" was so smooth it was hard to tell we were at sea for most of our 3 week voyage. Even in high seas and gale force 10 winds, we found it easy to move around and hardly noticed the motion. The ship provides outstanding service in every department. The crew is exceptional, courteous, friendly and very professional, making everyone feel special. The variety and quality of entertainment and enrichment activities was also unusually high compared to other lines we have used. It was a pleasant surprise to find a wide range of activities and talks, in particular the RSC, Dereck Daley F1 racing and even the King's former butler! The food - whether in Kings Court, the Restaurants or the Queens room was always excellent, well presented with lots of variety, not forgetting the irresistible afternoon teas. Excursions were fine, the ones we chose were interesting. Our one quibble would be the US immigration and customs formalities in Boston- long queues and two hours in port lost for to this: yet the arrangements to enter the UK or Canada were far smoother with less red tape. We wouldn't hesitate to book aboard the Queen Mary again. Although an old ship needing the odd repair, she was excellent and very smooth in the occasionally troubled waters. Waiters and Cabin Steward excellent often going out of their way to give excellent service.

Our first cruise over the Christmas holiday! This was our 19 th voyage with Cunard, so it is obvious we like the line a lot. Every cruise line has a personality. Formal nights, fine dining and attentive service ticks all the right boxes for us. This was the first year we skipped the Christmas party and decorating the house activities and set sail for the holidays. How did the trip measure up? We have sailed with Cunard 19 times.
Cunard cruise line has become synonymous with the romance and tradition of classic cruising - so what it's like to sail on Queen Mary 2 in the modern age? Cunard was founded way back in - with cruising for pleasure only taking off many decades later - but the world's only ocean liner, Queen Mary 2, possesses charm and magic enough to wow a 21st-century passenger. We review the ship A sense of anticipation crackles round the ship as everyone puts on their finest monochrome eveningwear, and I soon start to see why Cunard attracts such a loyal body of fans. Entering service in , the 2,guest QM2 is no mere cruise ship. With no direct rival, she is known and loved around the world.

Our 4th transatlantic voyage on the QM2 over a year period. Possibly our last. Overall service is a little less attentive. Food the entire week was dissappointing, as was the entertainment.

Any Destination Destination. Most entertainment, including all theater shows. Although passengers steer toward the plus age group, we also found many younger couples, families traveling with babies, children and teenagers onboard. We have sailed with Cunard 19 times. This was our 19 th voyage with Cunard, so it is obvious we like the line a lot. Elegant surroundings everywhere. The portions in Britannia are tasty, but on the small side.

This means you see the sea through a huge opening cut into the side of the ship. We did a transatlantic 7 day crossing from NYC to Southampton with a sheltered balcony cabin on Deck 5.
