The Countess was a malignant figure who once ruled in Khanduras. The Countess once ruled from a castle in the Black Marsh.

The Countess is a Demon and a Dark Stalker. She must be killed to complete the Forgotten Tower quest. She is also the only place in the game to obtain the Key of Terror, an item required to active the Pandemonium Event. Besides the quest and the key, the Countess is most popular for her ability to drop numerous high level runes.
