The story starts with a group of classmates wake up in their school with no memories. The windows are blocked, and there seems to be no exit; eventually, they learn from a robotic bear named Monokuma that they have been trapped in the school, and the only way out is to get away with murder. Much to the classes despair, the killing game begins, and even the kindest faces turn out to be killers. Yasuhiro is one of the reoccurring members of the series, that does very little to actually survive.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc [c] is a visual novel adventure game developed and published by Spike as the first game in the Danganronpa series. The player controls a high school student named Makoto Naegi who finds himself involved in a battle royale in Hope's Peak Academy, where the robot bear Monokuma gives the 15 students the chance to escape from the establishment if they murder another student and are not voted as the killer in a trial.
