The Darksword is a straight sword in Dark Souls. In-Game Description. The Darksword is obtained by reaching rank 2 in the Darkwraith covenant. The Darksword is a bit of an oddity amongst other straight swords; rather like the Broadsword, it attacks are almost exclusively slash attacks excluding the 2-handed rolling attack, which is a thrust attack and is one of the heaviest straight swords obtainable in the game, being as heavy as the Claymore and Bastard Sword ; however, it's also one of the longest straight swords, rivalling the range of the Balder Side Sword , and offers a number of unique advantages. Like most straight swords, its scaling is mediocre, but it makes up for it with excellent balance and utility. The Darksword inflicts more Poise damage than other straight swords, especially with its 2-handed weak attack. Correctly used in attacking in succession, this can stun-lock moderate-poise builds, and rack up damage quickly.
