This is a list of the sagas in the Dragon Ball series combined into groups of sagas involving a similar plotline and a prime antagonist. Realizing Goku's profound strength, she encourages him to join her in search of the remaining Dragon Balls, although they are not the only ones after them. Training for Goku and Krillin begins under the teachings of Master Roshi in preparation for the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament where the greatest fighters in the world will compete. Unbeknownst to them, Master Roshi has also entered under the guise of Jackie Chun to ensure that neither is crowned as the tournament's victor. The Red Ribbon Army is on the hunt for the Dragon Balls, and they're using any means necessary to get their hands on them. While continuing the hunt for his grandfather's Dragon Ball, Goku now accompanied by his friends Bulma and Krillin, run into General Blue of the Red Ribbon Army who follows them in a hot pursuit to an underwater Pirate Cave. Goku crosses paths with a ruthless assassin named Mercenary Tao and suffers a devastating defeat. Surviving, Goku decides to climb Korin Tower in order to receive the Sacred Water necessary to gain the strength required to defeat Tao and avenge the father of his new friend Upa. Unable to find the last Dragon Ball needed to revive Upa's father, Master Roshi suggests seeking out Fortuneteller Baba, who can divinate the locations of lost items. However Goku and his friends must first defeat her five mysterious warriors before she will help them. Master Roshi's students head off to compete in the next World Tournament, but a surprise awaits them. Master Roshi's rival Master Shen has brought his students, Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu to compete as well, and they're out for blood. Krillin is found dead after the World Martial Arts Tournament, and it soon becomes apparent that Piccolo, the Demon King, has once again returned with plans of world domination. As he searches for the Dragon Balls in order to regain his lost youth, his demon spawn set out to kill the Earths best fighters.

Dragon Ball Z: Sagas is an action-adventure beat 'em up video game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Atari. It is based on the anime Dragon Ball Z. Sagas is a linear combat-focused game with new abilities becoming available via upgrade. There are three basic fighting styles: Melee , Combo , and Ki. Melee attacks are often swift and leave the opponent temporarily stunned. Combo attacks are several consecutive punches or kicks to the opponent which may contain up to 10 hits.

Dragon Ball Z uses four pieces of theme music in the Japanese version. In Japan, Dragon Ball Z was aired year-round continuously, with regular off-days for sporting events and television specials taking place about once every six weeks on average. The English broadcast was divided into eight separate near-continuous blocks with breaks varying between four months to over a year between each block.
