After no news for years, fans of the video game series Dragon Age have recently had two big announcements. EA Games released the title of the next game in the series and literally nothing else about it. We also got an amazingly wonderful animated series on Netflix called Dragon Age: Absolution. Unfortunately, Dragon Age II may not be the best outing for the franchise. From the repetitive and limited maps, to only being able to play as a human, it feels constraining after the expansive first game.

All love interests, except Sebastian, may be romanced by either gender. No other companions can be romanced. It is possible to sleep with all romantic companions, except Sebastian, in a single game. Sleeping with any of the companions does not prevent the development of other romances. Some companions may pursue relationships with each other if not actively romanced by Hawke; if Hawke does not romance both Isabela and Fenris, or if their romance has already ended, they start a relationship with each other in Act 3. As far as I can tell - romance is possible with rivalry or Friendship points. BioWare was trying to avoid "evil" and "good" answers. So a rival relationship will usually be a little more agressive - more arguements between characters. Friendship romances are very fluffy and traditional. If you give a gift - it will help whatever rivlary path you are on. Merrill hates my character's guts - so I always get rivalry if I give her a gift. But Fenris and I already have an established friendship. So gifts go towards whatever side your play style has favored.
