The cyclical nature of history is an important thematic element that runs throughout the entire Dark Souls franchise. Dark Souls 3 in particular goes out of its way to embrace this idea, right down to featuring approximations of fan favorite characters who were introduced in the original Dark Souls : one such being Siegward of Catarina. Siegward of Catarina can be found for the first time in the Undead Settlement, in a nearby chapel around where you met Eygon of Carim. Siegward will be coming up an elevator as you enter the building, allowing you to speak with him. After running through all his dialogue and exiting the area, Siegward will move to an alcove above the elevator. Return to the Undead Settlement and take the elevator. Instead of letting it carry you all the way up, roll off right when you see Siegward on the alcove. Speak with him and then roll off the rooftop down below to find a Fire Demon. The next time you run into Siegward will be outside the Cathedral of the Deep after defeating the Deacons of the Deep. From here, you need to find Unbreakable Patches. Patches will trap you here and then become a vendor in the Shrine itself. From the Distant Manor Bonfire, exit towards the lake and cut into the sewers. Speak to Siegward if you missed learning any previous Gestures, but otherwise carry on to the Irithyll Dungeon.

Siegward has apparently decided not show up in Irithyll Dungeon for me.

We Unkindled must put our duties first. But for the moment, we've a toast to make. To your valour, my sword, and our victory together. Long may the sun shine! Have you heard?

Assists in the boss fight with Yhorm the Giant. Gives "Toast" gesture. Gives "Sleep" gesture. Gives "Rejoice" gesture. Rewards you with Titanite slab if you free him in the irithyll dungeons. Gives you free beer or "Siegbrau", maybe its rum, who knows? He will be located just past Eygon of Carim, and he will be coming up the lift. After speaking with him and exhausting his dialogue, he will move to a ledge nearly at the top of the lift. You can roll off if timed right and speak with him again.

No, I think not. So either he just gives you the items at this time or it was triggered by another bosses like the pontiff or old demon king. Jump into the window, and follow the path to Siegward's cell to free him. After players progress further in the game, they will find the Cathedral of the Deep. Pollux84 7 years ago 10 If you meet him in the kitchen, talk to him. I spent 30 minutes for this and I wont ever use it in an actual playthrough. I've just been sitting here, weighing my options. But thanks to you, an epiphany has struck me sqaure in the head. Asmodeus 7 years ago 8. Long may the sun shine! Not to worry. When you meet him in the kitchen at Irithyll of the Boreal Valley he will thank you for completing his task killing Yhorm in his absence and gift you with Emit Force and a Siegbrau. Wait what? I did almost the entire quest give the armor and beyond just before the Yhorm fight, and he thanked me nonetheless. Ah, oh! I have not entered Irithyll yet. Brakkis 7 years ago 1. The window on the roof of the church in the toxic swamp does not lead to his cell. Go through the corridors and be careful not to fall through the holes in the floor. But if you can get him hostile before going down to the area, he can fall down to his death at the elevator hole. You can make him go hostile without him falling down to the Demon's area by attacking him with a chime and then using 2 throwing knives, then he can chase you at the elevator area. Take this, a token of my thanks. He's not in the dungeon.
