Yeah Adopted Ancestry is a bit of a trap. Plenty of ancestries get similarly powerful options. And I don't see much mechanical difference between "you can select" and "you select". All it appears to do is grant you access to a select type of ancestry feats of a different ancestry than your own. I like that. So really what you are complaining about is that they get to save a class feat. So only need a level one ancestry feat for scaling proficiency in Aldori dueling sword? That would mean tengu and humans need one first level feat and everyone else needs a third level general feat and a fourth level archetype dedication. The flip side of "no other race can get this as easily as tengu" is "tengu have the easiest time getting this one narrow thing.
