Ebike controller speed limit

Hello, I bought an electric bike conversion kit and converted my own bike. However, despite the kit being advertised as around 35mph, it seems to have a speed limiter that kicks in at 26mph. It's a w peak controller, brush-less 3 phase motor. At 26mph, I get a constant w so I know I have the power to go faster and the rated rpm of the motor is so I'm not close to my limit there. There are no speed wires I can cut, I've looked and I have tried changing the wheel diameter in settings with no luck. To me it appears the only solution is to place a arduino between the 3 hall sensor wires of the motor and the controller to somehow trick the controller that I'm moving at half the speed that I actually am. Does this sound like the right way to go about it? Anybody have a arduino function in mind that I can use to achieve this? I was gonna hook up each hall sensor to a analog input and use a function to register every 2 rotations as 1. Thanks for the help.

It is a brushless motor, ebike controller speed limit, the speed is what you send to the motor though the motor may have Hall sensors built in. The only way for you to find it out is open up the motor, unless there's a model written on the motor casing? Most e-bikes feature an LCD display interface on the handlebars that contains all the settings and details of the e-bike.

Electric bikes have become increasingly popular in recent years, providing a fun, eco-friendly and efficient way to get around town. However, for those who want to go faster than the speed limit imposed by the manufacturer, removing the speed limiter is a must. In this article, we will guide you through the process of how to remove speed limiter on an electric bike. There are several advantages to removing the speed limiter from your electric bike. Removing the speed limiter on your electric bike requires several tools, depending on the make and model of the bike.

I knew there had to be a way to unlock its true potential and reach greater speeds. By delving into the intricate world of technology, I was able to manipulate the settings, enhancing both speed and performance. In this article, I will guide you through the steps to program your electric bike controller for an exhilarating ride like never before. The first step in understanding the electric bike controller is to familiarize yourself with its components and how they work together. The electric bike controller consists of several key components, including the throttle, motor, battery, and various sensors. The throttle is responsible for controlling the speed of the electric bike by sending signals to the controller.

Electric bikes are usually designed with a speed limiter. However, some people find it difficult because the motor will keep down the limits once it reaches top speed. Knowing how to remove the speed limiter on an electric bike will help you do that. To remove the speed limiter on your ebike, you need to locate the limiter wire first. Another way is by modifying the ebike circuite which needs a little extra work. We cannot remove a e-bike speed limiter wire. Also, we can neither identify nor locate it, but proper knowledge is essential before proceeding.

To me it appears the only solution is to place a arduino between the 3 hall sensor wires of the motor and the controller to somehow trick the controller that I'm moving at half the speed that I actually am. This setting is typically located in the advanced settings section of the controller menu. Using the speed of rotation of the motor to merely switch off when appropriate is much more efficient. I'm not sure if this system is actually capable of going 35mph but I know it can go faster than 26mph. It's powered by W motor overvolted to W. Search Search. This includes wearing protective gloves and eyewear, as well as ensuring that the e-bike is turned off and disconnected from any power sources. Already 25 mph is quite some speed for a bicycle. It also can be press-fit without scratching your bike. Ok thanks Flecc, straight over my head already. Replies 47 Views 1K. In addition, the higher current limit going from 20A to 22A is meaningless if 1 your battery's burst rate is not very high, this is a typical problem with cheap ebikes, and yes, I can speak from experience. This is because manufacturers often install speed limiters in their bikes to prevent them from breaking local e-bike speed laws.
