Continues to follow the player until exploding. It really feels like defeating a frightened god, something so hard to describe no bits of lore, no info, nothing we don't even expect what a final boss will be, until the very end. Thankfully the Beast's sword swings are incredibly obvious and slow, so you can either put up your shield and simply block them, or just roll through to get to a closer position.
