When it came time for another vehicle, though, this time I was going to get a little more picky I said to myself and pick the perfect one. Lots of memories of my Dad rowing that big stick through the gears as we bounced through the fields in the old Ford, doing whatever it was that Grandma had us working on. On my 16th birthday my Grandma sent me a check, but more important a model of the Ford F Sure I wanted the real thing, really bad too. As the CRX was itching to be out of my life, the decision was pretty easy — I wanted a truck. Vinyl seats and floors, AC for comfort and nothing else but honesty.

I was on my way to the emissions center to get my emissions test and when waiting in lineI noticed that the electric odometer display was blank-no characters at all. I also noticed that the speedometer pointer doesn't move. I checked for DTC-there isn't any. After doing this-still no odometer display. And the speedometer pointer should sweep when depressing the RESET button and turning the ignition switch on-the pointer doesn't move at all. The Shop Manual says to replace the instrument cluster!!
