Back in the year , the gaming world received some very welcome news. After the success of Fallout 3 , we were set to have a new game in the Fallout series , and upon its announcement at E3, we found out not only that Obsidian Entertainment would be at the helm but also that the game would be set in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, they would have it all to do. However, they succeeded, creating a game that, despite its technical faults and graphical shortcomings, is arguably the best thing ever produced under the Fallout umbrella. This was great news in the short term for Bethesda, but it meant that Fallout 4 needed to be bigger, better, and had to compete with New Vegas, a title created by Fallout creators of old, for Fallout fans of all generations. Bethesda set to work on this and created Fallout 4 , an adventure that allowed players to explore the commonwealth, tracking down their lost child and causing maximum mayhem in the process. Each game has received a lot of praise, however, for very different reasons. Fallout New Vegas is remembered fondly for its ability to offer deep roleplay, its incredible writing, open quest paths, and its incredible expansion of Fallout lore. Whereas Fallout 4 has been widely praised for its tight gunplay, building mechanics, and the later added survival mode. However, you may be wondering which is best, what separates these two games, and whether both games are worth your time.
Fallout 4 vs new vegas
The two biggest and most popular games in the Fallout series are arguably New Vegas and Fallout 4 , so choosing between them for first-time players can be tough. Each one has its positives and negatives, and both provide a quality gameplay experience that will leave new players wanting more. Either is a great way to start the series, so choosing which one to play first may boil down to personal preference and what players are looking for in an RPG. New Vegas is widely regarded to be one of the best Fallout games in the series, and Fallout 4 's more recent release was met with acclaim and praise, albeit with some criticism directed towards the dialogue system. Beating each Fallout game is a long and involved process, but they both keep players engaged right up until the end. New Vegas came out over 10 years ago, so this may be even more impressive on its part. New players to the Fallout series may be faced with a tough choice, but whichever one they choose, they're not likely to be disappointed.

Fallout 4 completely gutted the skill system to the point where specials were the only thing that mattered, this decreased build variety a lot compared to Fallout New Vegas. Updated March 16th, by Ritwik Mitra: The Fallout fanbase is divided down the line when it comes to selecting the best 3D game in the franchise. Morality has never been as grayer in any game as in New Vegas , no action is completely "right," with things rarely being black and white — something that can't be said for Fallout 4 , where the writing is somewhat more simple by comparison and the distinction between good and bad is way clearer. It also isn't realistic to compare a game 5 years older in terms of graphics, the tech wasn't there to achieve the level of detail in F4. This isn't even remotely the case in Fallout 4 , where the game still continues and players can still tackle a whole host of sidequests in Fallout 4 even after the main quest is well and truly done. These fun side activities serve as a fun distraction from the main plot of the story and provide a much-needed breath of fresh air. Hell, I don't even remember what it's called. One would be hard-pressed to talk about some of the most legendary gaming franchises of all time without mentioning the behemoth that is the Fallout series. Originally a product of Interplay Entertainment, Fallout switched publishers and ended up with Bethesda, which did a fine job of bringing over the complexity and nuance of the Fallout series into a first-person perspective with Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. However, there's a sizable section of the fanbase that believes that the Fallout series wasn't really done justice by Bethesda themselves, but rather by another video game development studio that took over the reins and delivered a role-playing experience that was more in line with the franchise's roots.

Some think stories and writing is more important and you can't change that. If you say so. What do these games contain other than story, dialogue, and gameplay? Fallout 4 combat's enough of a joy as is, but Bethesda didn't stop there — they also gave the player options to attach weapon mods to their firearms, making combat even more dynamic and interesting as a result. There's little to no option for players to still explore the world of the Mojave Wasteland after finishing the central questline. Compromises need to be made to adhere to the limits set by Fallout 4. You can debate if graphics are important or not all day but story is one of the most important aspect of any game, unless designed to have little to no story games live and die by their writing, I'm not going to judge a book by how attractive the font is and how nice the pages look, I'm going to need good writing. Fallout 4 completely gutted the skill system to the point where specials were the only thing that mattered, this decreased build variety a lot compared to Fallout New Vegas.
