Log In Sign Up. How do I recover them? My friend just came over and decided to start his own save file. He just left, and about half of my save files were missing. I don't know why.

I have tried almost everything to try to fix it; mods, waiting it out to see if it would fix itself, going to a different area, verifying my game cache, etc. However, I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling. But, I do not want to lose my progress. Where can I find my save files in my computer?

With numerous divergent plot points, questing options and play-styles, accumulating plenty of "Fallout: New Vegas" save files isn't hard. Deleting your excess save files periodically can keep your "Load" menu from becoming a disorganized mess, especially if you have multiple characters. Each version of the game handles save files differently, primarily related to how the machines themselves store and manage the save data. Press "Windows-X" on your keyboard to launch the power user menu, and select "File Explorer" if you're running Windows 8.
