Families First, one of the last family-owned funeral homes in Windsor, has been sold by founders Brian and Mary-Lynn Parent to Service Corporation International, an American provider of funeral goods and services. Families First was founded by the husband-and-wife team in Windsor 25 years ago. The business was eventually expanded into LaSalle and Amherstburg and a crematorium and reception centre were added last year. Parent continues to be managing director of the Dougall Avenue location but is no longer president of the company. Mary-Lynn is working part-time as a funeral planner.
