We were eating lightly, and chose only two meze a delightful mussel salad and a wonderful cold eggplant dish. For the main course, we both were going to order grilled levrek when the waiter politely suggested we share one grilled levrek with a levrek stew as our alternative entree. I love grilled fish, but the levrek stew with mushrooms and a light tomato sauce was spectacular. Paired with a dry white wine from Pamukkale, and followed by both a fresh fruit course and an usually good hot helvah pudding for lack of a better word , our dinner was indeed memorable.
