Surviving the world of Don't Starve was already a challenge, even for the most seasoned survival genre veteran there's so much to take in at first. When Klei Entertainment released follow-up Don't Starve Together , players were met with a whole new set of challenges and mechanics that required teamwork. Fortunately, along with these new challenges, a unique array of items and weapons were also added that players could use to fight the monsters of the night. Ranged weapons stand out from the rest, as they can keep a player out of harm's way especially when dealing with pesky monsters like the Killer Bee. Not all ranged weapons will make a player the ultimate fighting machine, though. The Water Balloon is perhaps the weakest ranged weapon in Don't Starve Together, since it only adds 20 Wetness to the affected monster. Despite this, though, it can certainly prove very useful if used correctly.

Does anyone have good suggestions for balancing them? They're decent in niche situations if buffed by volt goat jelly eg: Malbatross and phase three of CC but otherwise yeah they're pretty atrocious. Either they should do a little more damage or as many have suggested in the past you should get 2 per craft instead of 1 or something similar to make them more viable. Alternatively the actual blowgun could be one craft and the darts another cheaper recipe. I personally would go with the last one combined with getting two darts per craft. I feel like that would make them viable but not overpowered. But why so weak? I think its balance from solo DS, where Deerclops and most bosses have 2k hp, rarely 3k hp Blowdarts should really have a durability instead of a 1-use-per mechanic. Increase the hound's teeth in the recipe and I can see myself crafting a more expensive one with 5 or 10 uses instead of crafting 10 individual ones with 1 use each. But the reeds and the inventory are the biggest setbacks imo. They did come in pretty handy to cheese my way through the first champion fights when he first came out tbh.

Unlike games like FFXIV, players will not always want to wield the highest damage dealing weapons as some weapons are extra effective for some characters and less suitable for others. Different characters also have access to unique weapons and Structures that can be used to damage enemies, making some characters more appealing than others. At the end of the day, players will be able to kill all Mobs simply by kiting them and avoiding damage, although some weapons will take less time to kill enemies. New players might also be pleased to know that there are a series of Traps players can place to help protect themselves and their friends from the monsters that roam The Constant. Wes, unfortunately, does not get any passive abilities that help balance out his damage debuff, but due to the fact that Wendy receives the passive of having her sister Abigail, Wendy does a moderate amount of damage.

Weapons are Items used to fight, hunt and defend oneself from creatures in Don't Starve. Most weapons have a durability, limiting the number of times it can be used. In the hostile wilderness, a player's bare hands won't stand up well to many of the hostile creatures found or be able to hunt very effectively, while running can get one safely out of harm's way at first, a player will need to start utilizing weapons for self-defense, hunting, and especially for the periodic Hound attacks, or other fast, persistent enemies. Some characters have personal damage modifiers. All characters' unarmed attacks deal 10 points of damage per hit, and can be executed only once every second while armed ones can be executed twice, making characters' unarmed attacks impractical for combat. Using items this way won't deplete the item's durability any more than holding it normally does. Tools can also be used as weapons and have varying amounts of damage and durability. Golden versions of each tool do the same damage and have 4 times the durability. Obsidian versions of each tool have 2.

Uses the texture of the Base-game Fire Dart without the blowpipe. Last edited by Airvanz ; 9 Aug, am. Poison Dart is exclusive to Shipwrecked. Players will have to make a decision when using Slurtle Slime as they can also be used to refuel Lanterns and Miner Hats. Also similar to other objects that provide status effects, the Ice Wand may provide diminishing returns on larger enemies, such as bosses. Bees, Batlisks, Butterflies, Mosquitoes and Shadow Creatures are unable to activate Bee Mines, so eat your heart out if you choose to place these. Players seeking to harness the power of the wind will see the Weather Pain as their perfect companion, since it creates tornados to destroy everything in its path. The Boomerang should be ideally used to kill Birds or Rabbits as they can be killed in 1 shot by all characters except Wes and Wendy , who will require two throws instead. The first Ranged Weapon players will probably have access to is the Boomerang. Saffron Feathers are going to be the most difficult out of all these ingredients to farm as they are only dropped by the Canaries. Although easy to craft, I would avoid the Cork Bat if you have the choice.

Each dart has only one use. Exclusive to:. It is also dropped by MacTusk.

You can, however, read more about Winona and her Structures here. My solution would be to make blowpipes and darts separate, you make a blowdart with 5 reeds and it can shoot darts you can load like walters ammo, this is all it takes. The issue is partially with the tediousness of the recipe. It might take a while for you to farm these buddies, but they are well worth the wait. This annoying catching mechanic and its less-than-stellar damage of 90 is all that really holds the Boomerang back. Not all ranged weapons will make a player the ultimate fighting machine, though. Tooth Traps cannot aggro Mobs, meaning that players must lead Mobs into said Traps if they hope to deal any damage. It is only visible to you. Ezzaroth Online. Is there any way to change the ice darts back to normal darts? Tooth Traps are fireproof, but can be destroyed with a Hammer or eaten by Eyeplants. Start a Wiki. Wickerbottom players will have an easy time battling straight out the gate as Wickerbottom has access to all Science Machine recipes upon spawning into The Constant.
