Ruin takes place sometime after the events of FNAF: Security Breach, with new protagonist Cassie entering the remains of the Mega Pizzaplex which has - according to the local press - been destroyed by an earthquake. Once inside, Cassie finds reason to believe that her friend Gregory is trapped inside the ruins, and it becomes her mission to find and free him. Of course, being a FNAF game, nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and Cassie soon finds herself facing deadly threats beyond her wildest imagination. There's also the validity of the voice she's following, with the question being: is Cassie walking into a trap? The FNAF roster of characters is an extensive one, but Ruin mostly focuses on new faces rather than returning ones. Ahead of Ruin 's release, speculation was high when it came to who might return, especially with the iconic Bonnie animatronic noticeably missing from the Glamrock line-up.
