If i click not so far away the dash is instant, but if i click further away my char runs a bit, then dash for the remaining distance. I want to extend the dash distance without having to dash twice or run a bit first. Is it the base time duration i have to play with?

Sometimes if I'm holding left click it will work, sometimes it won't. Is there a way to set it up or configure it so it's more like D3's movement skills such as Dashing Strike or Vault? Shift while using helps as said. For some reason they have the 'cast at range' shorter than the maximum travel distance. Stun immunity or avoidance above witch start is also really helpful.

Flame Dash cannot be supported by Spell Echo Support although it is affected by echoing shrine resulting in two fast, individually targeted casts. The maximum targeting range of Flame Dash is defined by a square rectangle centered around the caster. Flame Dash and Leap Slam seem to be the only two skills that work this way, all other skills have their max-range defined by a circle as one would expect.
